Air Force Blue Enjoys Dewhurst Romp

Minding’s romp yesterday was followed up by an even more impressive display from Aidan O’Brien’s Air Force Blue in the Group 1 Dubai Dewhurst Stakes at Newmarket this afternoon as Ryan Moore pushed a button and cleared away from his rivals.

Emotionless was billed as the main rival but lost the unbeaten tag trailing in at the back under William Buick as Massaat came through to finish closest to the winner but still well behind at the line.

“It was a brilliant performance, I rode him Irish Guineas day and he won first time, but he was a big frame of a horse. Then he got beat in the Coventry but he still wasn’t quite developed yet. It’s the first time I’ve sat on him since June, cantering down you could feel he’s really strengthened and developed.” Ryan Moore

Winning trainer O’Brien was once again hailing a star juvenile in his care….

“I could not be more impressed. I was very happy on Friday and Ryan Moore came in and said he’d rode nothing like her all year, but the filly, Minding, would probably only lead this horse halfway up the gallops in work. He was a baby early on and he keeps doing it time after time. Joseph got off last time and said he’s ridden nothing like him.”

“I would say no doubt he’s the best two-year-old I’ve had, the size and the scope and the way he travelled.”
