American Hero Pharoah
The Triple Crown surely topped in the final race of a career that sends shivers down the spines of history books as American Pharoah delivered once again when it mattered landing the Breeders Cup Classic by a whopping six and a half lengths for Victor Espinoza and Bob Baffert.
The super colt ran a new track record at Keeneland and never looked to be in trouble taking them along from the wire to the post to a huge ovation from the crowds in America and the huge television audience around the globe.
“This was for Pharoah,” trainer Bob Baffert. “We wanted him to go out the champion he is. It’s a horse racing fairy tale and I just happen to be in it…”
“I was trying to open it up as much as I can” was the view from the saddle after such a display. Espinoza…. “I saw the wire maybe 20 yards and for me it was not coming fast enough because I want to cross that wire and get it over with.”
