Bowen out of action with shoulder injury
Exciting young conditional jockey, Sean Bowen is set to be out of action for a couple of weeks after sustaining a shoulder injury in a fall at Catterick on Thursday. The in form youngster was on-board the Ian Duncan-trained Milborough in the North Yorkshire Grand National but the pair came to grief at the first.
Bowen, son of trainer Peter, has been in scintillating form in recent times, recording seven winners since Christmas. Most of those came for his father but he has also been used to good effect by Paul Nicholls, Bernard Llewellyn and Alan Jones.
Father, Peter said of the injury: “Sean came out of hospital last night and he’s all right. He’s just torn a ligament off his shoulder.
“He’s going to see a specialist in Cardiff today, I believe, and we’ll know a bit more after that, but I’d imagine he’ll be out for three or four weeks.
“It could have been a lot worse as it was a nasty old bump.”
