Brighton 4.30 – Before The Off….
Mick Quinn’s four-year-old won over course and distance on heavy going off a mark of 50 last October. He then won off a mark of 51, again over course and distance, on good ground on his penultimate start. Last time he was third off his present mark of 55 on good to firm going. The return to softer conditions should suit and he has yet to be out of the first three in four trips to Brighton. Franny Norton’s mount is top on BTO Plus+ figures and on Speed Ratings.
FOLLOW THE FAITH could be the biggest danger as the three-year-old filly is rated the same as Rockie Road, but gets a handy 6lbs here. She won a Maiden over course and distance on heavy going last October and has since struggled in handicaps. However, she has come down 10lbs this year and could now be well treated.
PELAGIAN is having his first run since last October and won over course and distance last September off a 4lbs lower mark than he races off today.
OLNEY LASS has had her last five starts at Brighton and five of her seven career wins have been at the track, including off a mark 15lbs higher over 6f two years ago. She was well beaten behind Rockie Road, though, back in June and faces a tough task to reverse form.
IMPROVIZED is 19lbs better off with Rockie Road on their meeting here last October, but her form has been disappointing of late. She did, though, win over course and distance off an 8lbs higher mark last October on heavy.
The eight-year-old LUTINE CHARLIE has twice won off higher ratings over course and distance, and is on a reasonable mark now.
