Don’t Touch remains unbeaten…
Richard Fahey’s unbeaten Don’t Touch remained so with a last gasp win in the Great St Wilfred Handicap at Ripon under jockey TOny Hamilton this afternoon.
With plenty to do from the half way stage a determined run up the middle of the track was just enough to collar long time leader Kimberella with Richard Fahey’s Tatlisu finishing back in third place.
The winner was sent off at 4/1f and supporters would have been worried with a furlong or so to go as Adrian Nicholls set sail for home on 20/1 Kimberella for father Adrian Nicholls and looked to have all moves covered. Not to be though for the leader as Don’t Touch would not go down and once hitting the front did just enough to stay there and land the feature on the card to the joy of the crowd.
Robyn O’Ryan assistant to Fahey was delighted and marked up another big handicap now in sights for the progressive stable charge.
“Don’t Touch is a very laid-back horse who only just does enough. We bought him from Cheveley Park, we didn’t run him last term, but he’s kept on improving all season. He’ll now go for the Ayr Gold Cup.”
