Down Royal Preview

Down Royal host a seven race card which gets underway at 5:30pm on ground descried as good to firm (watered).

Little King Robin will look to make all in the opener under jockey Mark Walsh and could well prove hard to peg back. Ningo Express could be the one to follow her home in the receipt of weight from Emily Gray.

A very weak Maiden Hurdle is the second on the card with Shalamzar looking to hold an obvious chance. Empersario is having his first run for trainer Matthew Smith and holds e/w prospects.

Synchronicity rates a key player in the third for the same connections who owned/trained Royal Ascot scorer Domination earlier in the week. Silk Hall could outrun his odds along with Maxim Gorky, who’s well in at the weights.

Gretzky looks to be well treated over timber and should take all the beating in the fourth after a good third last time. Hot Prospect will relish conditions and holds a place chance along with Quarton who’s having his first run for trainer Gordon Elliott.

A below average beginners chase is next up with Butney Rock likely to go to post a short priced favorite. He’s ran some solid races over fences thus far but Valentino’s Choice has some good pointing’ form on a quick surface and is sure to go well.

The feature on the card – The Galway Plate Trial is the penultimate race, favorite Authinger will relish both trip/ground and having won his beginners over C+D, he looks sure to be involved at the death. Howwoulduno is another interesting runner who shouldn’t be too far away.

Solitha could prove a very tough opponent to the Willie Mullins trained Morning Run in the closing bumper and she gets the vote in receipt of 5lbs.
