Ffos Las will be testing!
The Clerk of the course at Ffos Las, set to race this afternoon starting at 2.10pm, has called conditions “very heavy” with lots of overnight rain affecting the track.
Keith Ottesen explained this morning “The ground is very heavy and we’ve made some modifications to the course due to the standing water. There could be some additional changes to come and although we were forecast 4-6mm of rain, with an outside chance of more, we were not expecting as much as we’ve got.
“The runners will get through the ground fine. It’s quite bright and breezy now and we’re all systems go.”
Also racing from Cork this afternoon where the ground is similar to that of the Welsh venue, Soft to Heavy and Heavy in places after 7mm of rain fell over night. Much better however can be expected for the afternoon for Newbury’s 6 race card where conditions are set fair and the ground is described as Good, good to soft in places ahead of their 2.30pm start.
