Godolphin grab Pleascach
Irish 1000 Guineas winner has joined the Goldolphin team after the boys in blue were successful in securing the Classic winning filly for Jim Bolger ahead of her bid to win the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot next week.
The powerhouse owners already have solid association with the Bolger team and have added Pleascach to their team for the Royal Meeting which already includes hugely exciting Round Two who will go in as favourite for the Coventry Stakes for Bolger and carries the famous Royal blue silks.
Bloodstock advisor to Sheikh Mohammed, John Ferguson told www.godolphin.com: “Jim is keen for the filly to run at Royal Ascot, with the Irish Derby and the Irish Oaks both being targets in the future.”
“His Highness Sheikh Mohammed believes when buying young Classic fillies, you look at them as a 10-year plan rather than just as a racehorse, and with the stallions that we now have at our disposal, the future is exciting.”
The exciting filly will tackle 1m4f for the first time and she was previously discussed as a possible candidate for the Irish Derby which her trainer famously remarked that move was more down to his views on this years crop of colts!
Pleascach is quoted at 6/1 for the Irish Derby and is sure to go off market leader in the Ribblesdale which goes to post a week today on Thursday at the Ascot meeting.
