Legatissimo faces 10 in Oaks – Friday

David Wachman’s 1000 Guineas heroine Legatissimo will face 10 rivals in the Oaks at Epsom on Friday.

Ryan Moore is again on board the Danehill Dancer filly, owned by Michael Tabor, Derrick Smith and John Magnier, with Richard Hughes taking the ride on Sir Michael Stoute’s second favourite Crystal Zvezda.

Aidan O’Brien saddles three in the third Classic of 2015 in Diamondsandrubies, Qualify and Together Forever. Found will go straight to Royal Ascot with Wedding Vow also missing the Epsom contest. Godolphin’s Local Time was the other withdrawal at the 48-hour declaration stage.

Legatissimo, who has been handed stall one for Friday’s big race, is a top-priced 3-1 to complete the 1000 Guineas/Oaks double last achieved by Kazzia in 2002. Crystal Zvezda is 7-2 with Jessica Harrington’s Jack Naylor next best at 7-1. Diamondsandrubies heads the Ballydoyle entrants at 9-1 after her win in the Cheshire Oaks last time out.
