Talk of his lengthy absence were exaggerated as Ryan Moore made it back to the saddle this week and it didn’t take long before he found the winning line before the opposition.
On just a third ride back it was a Group 2 success on Time Test who looks set to continue improving for trainer Roger Charlton.
Moore who expressed during the week that he hadn’t spent much time watching horses he was hoping to or likely to ride “just concentrating on getting back” and he was similar in victory here “I’m very lucky to come back from injury and ride horses like this.”
The trainer was full of compliments for his improving charge Time Test – “He’s obviously got speed and class to run over a mile and Ryan said he would be better on faster ground. He could go to the Breeders’ Cup Mile or Hong Kong or maybe nowhere. I think he’ll end up being a better horse than Al Kazeem. He’s been immature and the future is ahead of us.”
Entered for two possible Group 1’s at Ascot on October 17 the options are open for a further leap before the season is out.
