More for Moore?

It’s been a record-breaking week for Ryan Moore at Royal Ascot and he can finish the week in style with a strong book of rides today.

He will be aboard to well-named and well bred, Ballydoyle in the opening Chesham Stakes for Aidan O’Brien, Fourth on her debut at the Curragh on Guineas weekend, inexperience was evident for the Galileo filly but a significantly improved performance can be expected today.

Aidan O’Brien’s  two year olds are perfomring very well and this filly is held in high regard and once she improves like I expect her to, she can take what looks an ordinary renewal of the Chesham.

The concluding two mile and five furlong Queen Alexandra Stakes will be a true test of stamina and Moore’s mount Wicklow Brave should prove hard to beat.

Willie Mullins and Moore teamed up with Clondaw Warrior earlier in the week and they can continue their successful Royal Ascot partnership in today’s finale.

Wicklow Brave has won his last three starts, two on the flat and the County Hurdle at Cheltenham. He should handle the quicker ground today and Moore can finish his week in style.

He’ll also be aboard Telescope as Sir Michael Stoute’s charge bids to capture back-to-back Hardwick’s.

He was just denied on seasonal reappearance at Newmarket but stripped a lot fitter second run this season, routing rivals in a six length victory in the Al Rayyan Stakes at Newbury.

It’s another favourite for Moore and I’m expecting him to continue his great form and sign off Royal Ascot 2015 with a treble.

Dermot Weld has decided to go down the sprinting route with Mustajeeb and I have to agree with him on this one.

He showed plenty of class to win the Jersey over seven furlongs at last year’s Royal meeting but seems to be even more effective over six.

His first run of the season was very promising as he had some seasoned sprinters in behind, when landing the Greenlands Stakes at the Curragh.

He’s only four and is still improving and I believe he has a huge sprinting future ahead of him. There’s no doubt he will be primed for today and I think he can upset Aussie hot pot, Brazen Beau.

The two handicaps on the card are once again very tricky. Tentative each way votes go to First Flight in the Wolferton and Huntsmans Close in the Wokingham.

Best Bets:

2.30 Ballydoyle 2/1

3.40 Telescope 7/4 NAP

4.30 Mustajeeb 6/1 ew

5.35 Wicklow Brave 11/8
