Onenightidreamed takes the Irish Lincoln

Success at the Curragh was hard work today on testing ground but Onenightidreamed came home in front of a big field to land the Irish Tote Lincolnshire under Wayne Lordan for trainer Tommy Stack at 8/1.

A maiden winner at Cork last term and ran well in a Handicap at the Curragh afterwards it was first time cheek pieces today for the four year old and coming with a strong challenge in the final two hundred yards hit the front and stayed there to hold off Aussie Valentine who finished 2nd at 20/1 for Silvestre De Sousa and trainer Paul Deegan.

Third place was Third Dimension as the field strung out behind included Queen Of Alba 4th at 50/1 and Canary Row in 5th place at 14/1. The favourite at the off was Tom “Socks” Madden ridden Unsinkable but lots of horses at the track this afternoon struggled with the underfoot conditions and it was the theme of the day as winners included a 100/1 shock in Group Lodge Park Stud Park Express Stakes as Ramone took the feature under Shane Foley.

“Waiting for soft ground all last season, and we were going to run him at Leopardstown near the end of the year but thought if he won it would mess up his handicap mark.” said Stack of the Lincoln winner.

At Limerick Joseph O’Brien finished out of the places on his first hurdles spin aboard Egyptian Warrior for Aidan O’Brien before flying into the Curragh to partner a number of potential stars for the yard as they worked no less than 66 horses on the track after the racing had finished.
