Ready for a Good Friday on the Flat…
Two very competitive meetings on the flat on Good Friday and serious prize money up for grabs with the highly anticipated All Weather Championships at Lingfield and a high quality card at Musselburgh to entertain racing fans as we roll into a big Easter weekend for the sport.
It really is a treat for all at Lingfield with million pounds on offer in prize money and with the qualifying process all done and dusted, UK, Irish and French horses will tough it out on the Polytrack to claim Championship honours with a seven race card starting at 1.45 and the day concluding at 4.45pm.
As Irish trainer Tracey Collins commented on RacingFM this week. when asked why perhaps more Irish trainers had not got involved, it is a complicated procedure to make it to this day with 150 fixtures and 900 qualifying races in the build up to ensure a highest standard of runner on the afternoon.
The Coral Easter Classic is one of the highlights and has the hottest betting proposition on the card in Tryster who looks set to go off an odds on favourite for Charlie Appleby and William Buick.
At Musselburgh action starts at 1.55pm with a seven race card and concludes at 5pm with a card packed with competitive looking handicaps and Bordelescott at the age of thirteen will bid to lead his fellow sprinters a merry dance in a race named after him at 3.30pm.
Bayan is an interesting runner on the card for Gordon Elliott and is likely to start a well supported favourite in the 2.35pm Handicap with Paul Hanagan booked and a handicap mark to exploit for the connections on the level this summer, such is the 6yo’s excellent form over hurdles in recent months.
