Sruthan bids for repeat in Gladness
Last years winner Sruthan is one of 11 horses declared for Sunday’s Group Three Big Bad Bob Gladness Stakes at the Curragh.
Fresh from his first ever four-timer at Limerick on Thursday, Chris Hayes will ride the five-year-old for in form trainer Paul Deegan who will face three British trained raiders.
Dandy Nicholls is looking forward to sending over Sovereign Debt who was second in the All-Weather Championships at Lingfield on Good Friday and Nicholls said; “He’s come out of Lingfield well and with the ground drying over we’ll go over and take our chance.”
Aidan O’Brien’s Due Diligence will have his first run since finishing second to Slade Power in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot back in June and will be joined by stable companion Smuggler’s Cover, while Ger Lyons is also double handed in the race with Brendan Brackan and Piri Wango representing the Meath trainer.
Jim Bolger will bid to win a second Alleged Stakes with Parish Hall and the six-year-old will take on seven-rivals including Dermot Weld’s recent Cork winner Massinga who has won her last four runs.
