Take a chance on Sioux at Wolverhampton

3.25 WOLVERHAMPTON: DAILY ENHANCED “MAGIC MULTIPLES” AT UNIBET HANDICAP(Div I) (Tapeta) (5f)

The adverse weather is taking its toll on the racing world again today with the abandonment of Ayr. Still, we have action from Plumpton and Wolverhampton on RacingFM today and, although it may be the weather playing tricks with my mind, I think I have a 20/1 shot to go to war with at Wolves.

Harwoods Star and Steel City Boy are the only two to bring any kind of form into this very weak contest. That pair met over this trip at Southwell last time and it was the former that came out on top on that occasion by just over a length. That was his debut for the Stuart Williams yard, so there should be more to come from the 5yo who gets in here without a penalty.

The 12yo, Steel City Boy should be able to run him close again but there are some younger rivals that may be more dangerous. The 4yo Warm Order ticks that box, particularly having broken his maiden duck over course and distance two starts ago. He has since run another good race over track and trip and must have strong claims of going close again.

Swendab and China Excels are two others that may be worth considering but, for my sins, I am taking a chance on a big outsider, Lazy Sioux. Still a seventeen race maiden, Richard Guest’s filly has always been on the premises in her races, particularly on her three starts over course and distance.

A visor was tried last time but they are thrown away today and if she is ever going to win a race this looks like a very winnable contest. Another at a big price that I would not put anyone off is handicap debutante Colombia. Ann Duffield’s filly has ran ok in three maidens, has age on her side and the first time hood could bring about significant improvement.
