Today’s Info 10th January 2015

Good morning

Lots to like about the punting opportunities this weekend so hopefully some luck will follow us around the tracks.

I’ll start with the Lanzarote and Hello George is the most sensible starting point. Eyecatching behind Bayan, upped in trip and off a feather weight he looks the most likely winner for me and is rightly at the top of the market and seeing support. I think he may just have a bit too much in hand for some more exposed types although anyone on Tea For Two and Dell Arca I wouldn’t put you too far off them taking a hand with Hobb’s runner.

At Warwick Deputy Dan is too big not to support in the 1.55 at the right trip and a class advantage over his rivals. He can make up into a really good chaser and is entitled to win here on the way up to better races in time. At around 3/1 with a clear round that looks very fair.

Really looking forward to Open Hearted now upped in trip for Henderson and Geraghty on the Kempton card. A really likeable animal who has been crying out for a bit of time and is made for exactly what awaits this afternoon. I expect he will end up aiming a fair bit higher with a clear run at things this season and off his mark can win well I hope. The market is not taking the biggest chance with him but hopefully he can still prove a little underestimated with a very good performance.

In the Classic Chase at Warwick it would be good if all the 16 do run for punting purposes but I’d say that’s unlikely in the scheme of things. I like three for the race, Benbane Head after he did us a fantastic turn last time out and rewarded some faith shown in him, Shotgun Paddy who is hopefully still on the upgrade despite a blip last time and the underated Sixty Something.

I will have change on Benbane Head at the prices but it’s the other two that will be properly supported in the race for me this afternoon.Shotgun Paddy carries the weight but is a super animal and a few pounds higher than when scoring in this last year, he can win again and a good round of jumping puts him as the one the beat.

Sixty Something is going to win a big handicap this year and it could be this one. I think he has plenty of ability and whilst he hosed up in a ruined race last time it will have given him some confidence. Chances are these fences will prove a good test of his jumping but if it holds then he has an engine to run it twice so stamina sapping is perfect. A fair price and the main play in a cracking race.

At Punchestown I’d love to see another stayer Rogue Angel put it all in under JJ Burke and he might just be the man to make that happen for the well named chaser!
