Today’s Info 10th May 2014

Good morning.

You have to have a little dabble at the monster Scoop 6 today, my main selections for a perm below for you to include or rule out! If I told you there was more chance of a bearded lady winning the Eurovision song contest then…let’s move on….

Victoria Cup at Ascot and I’m throwing a couple of darts and from either side of the 29 runner field.

Bertiewhittle doesn’t run bad races and loves Ascot, second in the race last year of course and has a young pilot on who will have enjoyed the warm up spin at Haydock two weeks ago in preparation for this. The seven pounds off will be needed given the 6 year old is ten pounds higher than 12 months ago and he is going to get the cover and pace he needs of course. Good luck to Jack Garritty negotiating the path through!

From the other side I like Ayaar for Cumani and Dettori after a prep at Kempton three weeks ago which was encouraging considering how he raced and the way he finished. The ground hopefully will not change as I feel he needs the quicker stuff but has acted with a little bit of cut. He is well capable of landing a good pot of this mark and like Bertie’ should be on the premises with no hard luck stories in play.

I think Cumani could be in on the act sooner in the day too with Semeen in the opener, they have kept this one away from the track due to softening ground a few times already and this may be the case again here. If they run I think there is a lot more to come and I’d be a backer, Adam Kirby is booked.

At Haydock it’s a cracking mixed card on show and I’ve been through the Swinton a few times and keep coming back to the same horse. Vibrato Valtat was only good enough at Ayr being gifted a race that was pretty poor and run nothing like ideal for him and the 5 year old had of course been the subject of some strong support for the Imperial Cup when a slightly unlucky third to Balitmore Rock. This will be right up his street with the field size and I fancy he will enjoy it far more and although the yard are quiet enough he rates a bet. Dubawi Island is of course intriguing coming in to this after three wins but I’d like to see him handle the step up before taking a chance at the odds in such a race.

Pantxoa is running on the card and I’m a long time admirer, even when he couldn’t win a race for a couple of seasons, he’s a touch short in the market but I do hope he continues to put it together for Alan King.

My Scoop Six attempt will have these at the core for anyone looking to boost a perm or narrow it down – good luck with your efforts!

Have a great day…
