Today’s Info 11th January 2015
Fairyhouse and Kelso on the agenda today for value seekers with some decent racing in store.
Action also from Chelmsford and whilst I really hope this works well and the racing looks competitive it’s never been my punting pleasure on the all weather, that’s why we have the likes of James Boyle on the station to pick the right path through to the winners enclosure in such circumstances!
At Fairyhouse the race of the day goes to post at 2.30pm and Bright New Dawn is the right favourite at around 5/2 but doesn’t appeal in terms of prices for a punt. He has plenty of ability and will take the beating but I was impressed with Sraid Padraig last time out in what was a decent race and he, thanks to the popularity of the jolly here, is now a very fair price to take a hand.
Tony Martin’s runner really likes the track and should step up a fair bit on his seasonal return when second here. Gets a fair bit further than this trip so will want to be prominent and with the conditions likely to ride plenty testing is a nice alternative at the odds to the Gigginstown charge.
At Kelso the Veterans Chase is a nice race and hopefully the returning to form Cape Tribulation can hold off the equally admirable Lie Forrit in a battle to the line. Poole Master is interesting as is Summary Justice whilst Harry The Viking could bounce back and carry a few home on his very best efforts from the past.
Cape Tribulation though is the selection after a big run in the Rowland Merrick, a repeat of which should win here and with sixteen days since that effort hopefully enough time to have fully recovered and step up a little again. He was raised in the handicap for it but is a class act if keeping that level of form now. At the prices a small wager is merited.
Kelso 2.10 – Cape Tribulation 0.75pt Win – 100/30 General
Fairyhouse 2.30 – Sraid Padraig 0.75pt Win – 6/1 Coral and S James
