Today’s Info 11th September 2014

Good morning

Another top class day’s racing ahead on RacingFM – I’ve been enjoying the weather on a few days break and looking forward to a swift return to the winners enclosures with a few selections concentrating on Doncaster.

I’m skipping the opener as very tough betting heat to solve and whilst I’d chance Angels Wings will have more to come it is a dart rather than a confident selection and happy to let them run free with the notebook in hand as usual.

The Sceptre Stakes looks a really good opportunity for Sir Michael Stoute’s Bragging and James Doyle in the plate. Improved the whole season and whilst this is another step forward in terms of opposition the manner of the wins on her last two starts make her very much of interest. Muteela is the one that concerns me as a main danger and might be here with more wins under her belt with a bit more luck. At the odds you have to go with Mark Johnston’s charge to at least hit the frame and a saver with the forecast to cover the well backed jolly who at 9/4 now is on the tight side of fair.

It looks the time to catch The Great War in the big two year old race. Aidan O’Brien’s runner has already done enough to land such a contest and whilst connections were not best pleased with the Ascot run the War Front colt looked to be coming back to himself at The Curragh the last day behind Anippe in a good time on decent ground. The likes of Fox Trotter and Lexington Times are good types but bit of toughness from The Great War along with the class shown to date is taken to prevail.

After that I am hoping that Sea Shanty under Richard Hughes will be kidding into the business end of the 3.45pm for Richard Hannon and improve for the extra distance now which should suit. Forget Goodwood as that place can completely work against some horses. Prior to that was a massive runner in the Hunt Cup and on a lovely curve over shorter distances. If the trip is going to work it will be here and looks a good chance to come good again.

That will do for the day and there is lots more to come this week. with Ireland about to kick off the Champions Weekend too.

Advice –

Doncaster

2.10 Muteela 0.75pt e/w – 11/1 General ( 7s without the Fav is also appealing )

3.15 The Great War 0.75pt e/w – 7/1 General

3.45 Sea Shanty 0.75pt e/w – 20/1 General
