Today’s Info 14th March 2015

Well the after party for Cheltenham will long into the next few months for Coneygree connections – what a performance that was yesterday. We managed to find a couple of winners on the day and Next Sensation meant it wasn’t a complete disaster for the better priced horses I stumbled upon at the meeting and with some many hitting the places and not the winning line in front it was very welcome indeed!

So on to today and Uttoxeter is the feature for us with a first bet running in the 2.40 and Atlantic Roller moves up in trip for Paul Nicholls and Sam Twiston-Davies. A cracking scopey type who needs every yard of three miles and can step up on performances to date to land this on route to better things. It’s a decent race and Bandit Country is the main danger under AP McCoy after a nice victory last time out.

The National is a cracker and a jumping performance from Shotgun Paddy would have him going close from the top of the weights of course but he hasn’t put one in yet this season so only a small bet advised on this very talented stayer. It could be time for the giant plugger Goonyella to come to the party after a good run in the Thyestes which is seriously well advertised now and Jonny Burke will be hoping for a bit more luck than when a first flight faller at Aintree. The horse has done well since then though and will be finishing here over the marathon trip.

Final selection of the day at Uttoxeter is Quick Decisson who rocks up in headgear for Richard Johnson and Philip Hobbs in the following handicap. Talented and a touch flighty he should react well to them and if so is very well handicapped to pick up a race or two with a clear round over the fences. Soft ground plus a step up in trip also a bonus, fav for his last three starts he is worth another chance if you were involved on those occasions.

At Kempton a step up in trip should work the oracle for talented flat performer Communicator in the Silver Plate on the card at 2.20pm. Ran Josses Hill close on hurdles debut a long time ago and two starts in that code since promise better to come with decent ground and the new trip for handicap debut the chance to catch him. Could be very well handicapped if clicking here.

Advice –

Kempton 2.20 – Communicator 1pt Win – 8/1 General

Uttox 2.40 – Atlantic Roller 1pt Win – 15/2 Coral and BV

Uttox 3.50 – Shotgun Paddy 0.5pt Win – 14/1 General

Uttox 3.50 – Goonyella 0.75pt e/w – 10/1 General, 4 places

Uttox 4.25 – Quick Decisson 0.75pt Win – 7/1 General
