Today’s Info 14th May 2015 – York Day Two

Good morning.

We got some luck and a couple of excellent efforts yesterday with Libran and Algar Lad to kick off the few days at the Dante Festival and that will help us as it gets tougher as we go.

The Dante is today and I’d love Elm Park to win and do it well, Andrew Balding has always been very straightforward with his charge and missing the Guineas will have done no harm. This comes with the perfect gap to the Derby and at 4/1 I think he is the one to beat. Jack Hobbs is way too short for what has been put in the form book but he could be as special as he looks and that is conundrum, not hard to leave alone though at the prices.

Lord Ben Stack comes with good words from Karl Burke who is not one to call yaks as anything special so we can expect more from that outsider but JFK would be the biggest danger for me is forgiven a very poor return compared to what would have been rightly expected. I’m having a small punt on Elm Park and hoping all goes well, it’s a magic looking race.

The sprint that kicks it off has me very tempted with Out Do who looked improved again on return surprising all with a ready win and can obviously do more if lining up in the same frame of mind here. I also liked Desert Law and rather than play I’ve decided to pass as I can see both not getting the luck needed and it just looked too open.

In the mile handicap at 3.45 I like two and possibly Homage requires the biggest dart under Andrea Atzeni. Hasn’t had much racing but each start has generally brought improvement and there is more to offer, fresh is a good time to catch him too and the race looks nicely framed for him from stall 12. Not seen since dotting up here at the back end of last season, he should improve once more this term and will be here and then Royal Ascot you would imagine.

The other dart is Nakuti although I’d forgive a few of you for getting off the train before this afternoon. I’ve been constantly on board for some time and do feel she has a lot more to offer and tackling a mile here is a plus given her style of running. Luke Morris has the job for the first time and should suit her, the ground will be fine and she just needs a bit of cover and luck to follow to outrun her rag odds.

Happy to leave it there and see what the other races bring in terms of going forward and seriously looking forward to a Dante, win lose or draw with the wager it is set to reveal so much yet also be a race to deliver a thriller.

Advice –

3.15 Elm Park – 0.75pt Win – 4/1 General

3.45 Homage 0.75pt e/w – 10/1 General

3.45 Nakuti 0.5pt e/w – 33/1 General
