Today’s Info 14th September 2014

Some day at Leopardstown yesterday, a start that the ICW 2014 needed and the horses came out to play too. John F Kennedy, Free Eagle, Fieosolana and of course The Grey Gatsby getting a peach from Ryan Moore to deny Australia in a magical Qipco Champion Stakes.

My selections on the day just didn’t fire as hoped, I was excited mid race by a couple but they couldn’t follow through and that is life. Kingston Hill and Muthmir were exceptional and we saw some real markers laid down for next year too.

More to come today of course and the Curragh will take centre stage. Delighted to be able to see Chicquita return to the track but with Gleneagles, Cursury Glance and Found among the cards too we will get a treat.

The big one is the Leger of course and Leading Light gets another chance to cement claims as the leading stayer in the business at the moment. Only two defeats on the CV, imperious and tough this year it will take a below par run to get beaten here.

For a bet on the card I like Tim Pitt’s chances with Sir Maximilan in the Flying Five off at 3.10pm  – two trips to this side of the water have of course gone to plan and it could be a third one on the cards today. Impressive at the Curragh and Tipperary on those runs and whilst I respect Stepper Point of course this one is the play at the prices to go very close.

It’s hard to find other wagers and so I’ll enjoy all the action from the studio and hopefully this one will pay for the day!

Good luck to all and enjoy The Curragh and of course the start of a big week in Listowel.

Advice –

Curragh 3.10 – Sir Maximilian 0.75pt Win – 7/1 Lads and Boyles
