Today’s Info 17th January 2015

It’s Sprinter Sacre day, hopefully it is and the weather stays well behaved enough to also let us see The New One in action too then that’s usually more than you want for a good days spectacle of sport. Both win and win well and that keeps us all in the pre Chelts mood!

I’ve probably check in to the funny farm but Cedre Bleu is one of my wagers this afternoon. Doesn’t like winning that much ( has won 4 races ) and apparently doesn’t like jumping ditches or passing horses, if they are anywhere near a finish line at least. However whilst this is true and he is the roughest of rogues with a brain to match he does do all of this a little less at Ascot.

He is on a competitive mark and in very good form with himself at present. The ground rides in his favour and Sam WC has also worked him out, as far as is possible. It’s an open race at 3.35 and he is well overpriced at 16s to make the frame and if he doesn’t woof at the finish he can steel it.

Garde Le Victoire looks overpriced and under burdened on the same card purely based on what we have actually seen on the track to date when he carries the weight and attempts to beat seven rivals in the 2.25pm. Le Mercurey could be the one to improve a tonne but has to do it against a hardened and in form rival who keeps improving and can also do so again. At 4/1 he looks a very fair price to score for Hobbs in my view.

I could back three or more maybe in the Haydock feature Peter Marsh but Corrin Wood is the most interesting. Looked to be on the way up in no uncertain terms last year and with an improved run last time I expect this has been the main target for Donald McCain. He is the ideal type and conditions have come right too, a fair price at 6/1 I think and the call in a good looking race.

Shangani has probably left the win behind last time but will hopefully go well again for connections and also Green Flag can certainly mix it in this if firing on the day but enough doubts to skip them and take the medicine if wrong.

Cracking stuff in Ireland tomorrow which I am looking forward to so good luck until then..

Advice –

Haydock 3.15 – Corrin Wood 0.75pt Win – 6/1 General

Ascot 2.25 – Garde La Victoire 1pt Win – 4/1 General

Ascot 3.35 – Cedre Bleu 0.75pt e/w – 16/1 General
