Today’s Info 17th October 2014

A little late into action today but a bumper days racing in store on RacingFM.

Small stakes but the scatter gun is out with some interesting punts which hopefully lead to clover in return.

At Cheltenham I like two in the shape of the returned to fences Benbane Head under Sam Waley Cohen and if he does jump he will take some stopping in this grade and the other is Vibrato Valtat who hopefully will show a lot more back from a break and big run in the Swinton. He could be one to really take flight this time and I am keen to catch him now at what is a fair price. With Benbane Head it could go pearshaped but his efforts over hurdles since being diverted from the bigger obstacles are very decent so it will be about the leaping. Sam has been schooling him and if he gets his act together he can pick up a few races this term.

At Haydock in the last I am a big fan of Big Baz, a monster of a horse who has been deserving of more than one win this season. I think he would be a super type for a fast run sprint on soft ground but he will be played late enough here to get rolling and the type of horses that will not be bottomed so the timing is key. Very much a horse to keep on side and the wetter the better in my view for the big striding lad under Martin Dwyer.
