Today’s Info 18th July 2015

Good morning

Words could be the one to come home strongest in the Oaks today at the Curragh and although with most to prove would be my call in the Classic later this evening. The price is skinny enough and as is usual with these types of races I sit them out and enjoy the contest.

The 1.40 at Newmarket I’ve a chance taken with Boonga Roogeta after everything went wrong last time out and still ran with credit. This race is tougher but holds claims on best efforts and prior to that disaster was in cracking form, from a low perch here can make them all go under Jessop.

Consort should be odds on for the Steventon Stakes and shades of odds against are off the mark, too short for a selection but none the less surprised if anything goes wrong here.

Delighted the summer jumps meeting is here too with Market Rasen on and it lights things up a little before Galway allows us to concentrate on a few jumpers again. The Hurdle is a corker and John Ferguson has a grip on it with recent winners lining up but I’m a big fan of Court Minstrel who has a right touch of class and can defy a big weight in this if on a going day. Had a little quiet prep run and tuned up for a good crack at a decent pot makes sense.

The Plate is mighty hard and two at prices worth small wagers in an attempt to crack it are Pantxoa who has Tom Bellamy up to reduce the burden and ran well for a long way in this last year, looks to have been set up for a repeat crack. The other is Bar De Ligne who has more to offer in strong run races and likes this place, Aidan Coleman will assist and looks nicely weighted to run well.

Finally I’m with Soapy Aitkin to land the Super Sprint, serious talent and many will know what I think of Clive Cox’s charge despite blots on the book last twice failing to go through with efforts but this will suit and is a class above what will be faced and should be a lot shorter.
