Today’s Info 19th June 2015 – Royal Ascot Day 4

We did ok yesterday and Rotherwick hit the places after looking like it might come off but wandered a little on the ground and in the heat of battle, Pamona was unlucky in the barging but wasn’t a winner missed and we also accept a place whilst Boca Bacciata got a terrible trip and hopefully there will be other days for her.

Today is interesting for punting once again but with all this form study going on are the systems you need simply Moore at Ascot, Mullins at Aintree, Punchestown and Cheltenham, Weld at Galway and if in doubt O’Brien in anything?? Surely not but they do give you a lot to cheer!

Starting in the Albany and it’s not a punting race given the improvement guage you have to apply to probably the whole field but I did get a little bit more than impressed by Tutu Nguru for Haggas on her one start. The second has won since although not considered a squad member for this meeting by the Hannon’s may prove informative in a negative sense this afternoon but at the prices and having seen all of these I would be tempted to back the impression made and have a small punt at the double figure odds.

The King Edward VII is a cracker and tightly matched field. Stravagante is a bit short for me with that in mind, did run in the Jack Hobbs demolition job at Sandown which has worked out very well and won subsequently for Sir Michael Stoute but faces  a decent field and needs another step forward so is passed at cramped odds despite having obvious claims. Ol’ Man River needs to return to previous promising best efforts but although not disgraced in the Derby is a leap to side with still whilst Balios is full of promise but the race last time was a tough one and although improved to finish second this might just come a little early in the career to be tough enough and win.

Festive Fare is the one for me, just enough experience and been ticking away since early in the year but the Fielden run came after a mini break and showed plenty, this step up will suit and the prices allow us to get value in a tight contest with a super type who has a good turn of foot and if that is available to Buick at the finish here over a 1m4f then I think he will be the one who prevails.

I would have Tiggy Wiggy and Anthem Alexander at the top of the market for the Commonwealth Cup, the former is more than proven and has been entiitled to chance the legs at further and has done so with credit. She will make them all go again but with Hootenanny here too that will be interesting at the top of the charge. Limato is admirable and too early to decide there isn’t mroe to come but with Anthem Alexander who won here last year, has prepped well and it arguably the most likely to step up the most on previous efforts that price looks too big to take a hand and the race will surely set up to suit her in running down the leaders.

I think Lucida is the punt in the Coronation, got a little mugged in the Guineas and is rock solid but the Bolger runners have not clicked as would have been expected this week and it’s only a small bet to prevail. The french raider might be a bigger danger than Found who to me needs to be moved up in trip at this level but gets another chance today. Lucida with a clear passage should be hardy enough to go very close once again and is fairly priced.

The Duke Of Edinburgh is down to two for me in Ajman Bridge and Warrior Of Light, preference for the latter on the basis of a poor tactical ride last time up may have just ironed out everything needed to click this afternoon. Has the form with the leading contenders and more to offer, peices go on and I’ll be hoping there is no saving of anything for such a good pot on offer today. Ajman Bridge is classy and can still do better, ground suits and form is there already I am just concerned about the animal being a little soft and finds it tough to win so just left alone unless double figures appear for a wager later today. Warrior Of Light has plenty going for him today so fingers crossed he can deliver.

No bet in the Vase appeals so it’s there for the day and hopefully we hae one or two on side that have a bit more to come and do it on the day!
