Today’s Info 20th December 2014

A few bets today and a couple of darts at the Ladbroke Hurdle in order on a busy Saturday.

I’m a big fan of Safran De Cotte who goes under favoured conditions at Haydock this afternoon and with the yard flying now might just be overpriced to put a big effort in. More rain the better and shaped better than perhaps it looked last time up. Hopefully he can go well in the Tommy Whittle.

In the Long Walk at Ascot I’d be punting Zarkander but for selection purposes the price is below my minimum so will have to let him go without the nod from this column, he should be tough to beat unless there is a serious downpour. I’m interested too with Dell Arca  back over hurdles and will be a keen observer.

In the Ladbroke I think the market principles look solid, Activial and Shelford have the right profile and obvious claims, however listeners of RacingFM will know I like Gassin Golf and whilst it’s a leap of faith to persist he doesn’t have much to find and is ultra consistent including an effort with Shelford that reads fine. Alongside him I am also including a small wager on Garde La Victoire who won for us at Cheltenham and has more to offer too, the yard think he is below Champion class and that is true probably but he is very capable of figuring once more.

Advice –

Haydock 2.05 – Safran de Cotte 0.75pt Win – 13/2 General

Ascot 3.30 – Gassin Golf 0.75pt e/w – 20/1 General

Ascot 3.30 – Garde La Victoire 0.5pt Win – 16/1 General
