Today’s Info 21st October 2014
Lovely card at Exeter today but the wind is going to make it interesting for the runners and riders taking flight at the obstacles – fingers crossed they all have safe passages.
Most of the card small punts or watching briefs in the main. The likes of The Nephew, Puffin Billy and perhaps a chance taken with King’s big strapping Hurricane Vic may reward us but it’s the Handicap Chase at 3.40 where I am taking a more solid view.
Court By Surprise is a nice marker for most of these and deserves to have a better season but it’s not the one I want to be with as Sixty Something could prove a really well treated type this term for Paul Webber. Form last year was fair but should and could easily have been a lot better. From a mishap under McCoy early on to nearly something efforts after that they will have been a little disappointed with the tally come the summer break. He will get even further than this and very much a type for confidence before a crack at a major staying prize this season. The lack of headgear may be an issue as he does react well to it but if he is here and ready to roll he can have an edge on some of these from a few pounds below his hurdles mark – something that is certain not to last the winter.
A good card and one potential nice type for today and beyond is the call but their will be a lot of future cases made today at Exeter – looking forward to it.
