Today’s Info 24th May 2014

Good morning.

Kingman is set to star at the Curragh today and I think he can come good and makes amends for Newmarket. He was a little mugged that day having burst through powerfully to take the race and without discrediting the winner, it did leave his pocket picked rather than his nose bloodied. I really hope he puts that right although War Command on best behavior is a decent price and Shifting Power should make his presence felt too having been added to the field. Big Time is one that could cause a shock if there is to be one, last years form can certainly be built upon and doesn’t actually leave Shane Foley’s mount that much to find. Not a 25s shot maybe and if hitting the places it wouldn’t surprise me although winning against race fit top notchers on a first run back is as hard as it sounds.

The rest of the card there is decent of course, I want to see Alive Alive Oh in the 3.55, each way prices appeal for a small bet but she was very weak in the market last time and you’d hope that wasn’t repeated before investing today. The other is Bold Thady Quill in the last who if not missing the break should be competitive, both possible plays for later in the afternoon.

What About Carlo has excellent claims on the Silver Bowl at Haydock ( 3.45pm ) and Eve Johnson Houghton must be delighted with her “playboy” three year old who won really well at Sandown in April on route to here. She did have him entered in the Irish Guineas at the Curragh today but decided to go a little slower with him and that can pay off well, although she does still have him in the Eclipse. At the odds makes a lot more appeal than the gambled on Bilimbi who has seen sustained support all week. No doubt there is more to come there but at double the price and with a similar profile I’m with Graham Lee’s ride.

Scoop 6 players will have to delve in to Catterick for two races if landing the mission impossible, I don’t expect to get far and will not be playing any big perms but I’ll have a ticket and it will include Shore Step in the first of the six races. Channon has booked that man again Graham Lee, which is a good sign for punters when these two pair up and the four year old tanked through a race at Ascot on his return before fitness told. I expect that will have the course and distance winner spot for here and it could be a big day for Lee if this goes well under what should be a prominent ride.

Good luck then in the Scoop and to Graham Lee, I’m counting on you fella!

Advice –
