Today’s Info 26th October 2014

Good morning – better if you managed to get some place money from yesterdays two seconds at 8/1 and 14/1, crossbars being hit all over the place lately by yours truly!

Today’s racing offers plenty for us and I’ve a few around the tracks.

Starting with Aintree it may be worth chancing Parsnip Pete in the 2.40 Handicap Chase but the price is not as good as I would like for a punt although this strong bull of a horse could have too much under Paddy Brennan and will certainly carry some of my money. Also on the card at 3.15 it’s hard to ignore Peckhamecho under Geraghty for Rebecca Curtis. Hard task last time out was a really good run and will have an edge today over main rivals who all come off a break. The price just about fair for a wager and hopefully continues the good association the jockey has with the trainer.

I’m keen on King Of The Wolds making the grade this term over fences for Malcolm Jefferson. Was a decent hurdler and had a good start over the bigger obstacles but ended last term under a bit of a cloud with two below par runs at Doncaster. Will enjoy this test today I feel and is a fair price to put a very fair mark to good use back from 197 days off. A big strapping type who can pay his way this season and hopefully starts well this afternoon.

At Wincanton Pantxoa might be one to take on Famousandfearless with but he will need to jump well for Tom Bellemy and that is always the gamble with the King charge. He doesn’t often come down but does give his riders a tough ask taking birch with him on the way round but the powerful stayer runs off a very fair mark and can build on a very good effort at Market Rasen last time out. The fav is obviously on a nice upward curve but hasn’t convinced me yet that a battle will suit, set easier tasks and the win last time was very much in a race that fell apart. At the prices I am taking a chance with Pantxoa.

At Leopardstown the big handicap has to be tackled and Stormachion was a good winner for me on this column at Doncaster but could be one to take on now off a high weight and away from home. I like two at prices the first Digeanta who went close enough in the Cesarewitch and the other is Majenta who has come back this term late enough with eyes on such a prize. Cases can be made for many but with one in rude form and peaking and the other dangerously priced for ability shown and with this target in mind they are two educated punts in a corker of a puzzle to solve.

Have a great day and good luck.
