Today’s Info 27th October 2014

Good morning – shame about the treble yesterday which was paying over 100/1  and the third leg backed into 5/2 from 5s….One to maybe look for next time although King Of The Wolds did tire very quickly and ran plenty keen up the front end.

We did land a few winners though so the darts are going in the right direction, seconds on Saturday at big prices and few winners on Sunday hopefully a good sign for the week ahead and the jumps starting to get into full swing.

No great prices around today for the interesting bets but hopefully they can score and look a touch value in the races they are in.

Start with Wexford and the shade disappointing Hallings Treasure has been set a pretty easy task to get things moving for Gordon Elliott. The worry is the fall just a couple of days ago but if none the worse then he can account for the likes of Banker Burke who was moderate for Jessica Harrington on the level and Morethanmijobsworth who also looks to be a little short on evidence to date and will struggle in true run events over hurdles. A Sizing Network is the one to fear but this 2m will be plenty sharp on return from 189 days off. Hallings Treasure has shown more than enough to win this well and if forgiven the blip this week should be shorter to prevail under Kevin Sexton.

On the Galway card I like Rogue Angel who was nicely progressive last term and is set a decent task on return to the track with Bryan Cooper taking the ride. This is a good race and a winner from the top five in the market would not surprise many but there is lots to like about Mouse Morris’ runner who goes well fresh and has achieved the most to date, running well at Cheltenham and the big tracks last term. Luke Dempsey taking some weight off Jacksonslady is interesting as she is very capable and could figure but Black Benny and Aranhill Chief could be a little high in the weights now to score. Down Under then the main threat perhaps and won last time under a power packed ride, he needs to step up again and if Rogue Angel is fit and well he will be the one to beat.

A rather obvious choice is Cassells Rock for Tony Martin, sharply improving on the level and over hurdles he should account for hsi rivals at 4.05pm under Shane Shorthall. The trip seems to be important over hurdles and he settles better with more than 2m to tackle and with the ground hopefully staying quick enough through the day he should win.

At Ayr only one runner of interest and it’s the flashy looking Wilde Pastures for James Ewart. A rather lackluster campaign last season means they come into this well treated and Dale Irving gets chance to reduce the burden in a very weak affair. This is a good bit from the heights that was expected of the animal and he should be too strong off a prominent ride, again fitness is the key and hopefully a good summer has done him no harm.

Advice –

Wexford 1.45 – Hallings Treasure 0.75pt Win – 11/4 Boyles and Victor, 5/2 General

Ayr 2.20 – Wilde Pastures 0.75pt Win – 10/3 General

Galway 2.35 – Rogue Angel 0.75pt Win – 5/1 General

Galway 4.05 – Cassells Rock 0.75pt Win – 3/1 General
