Today’s Info 27th September 2014

Good afternoon

A bit of a return yesterday with Ty Gwr running a smasher in the Silver Cambridgeshire at monster odds and if only the stewards had been a little kinder I think we were tremendously unlucky with Ayrad.

Today is a lovely mix of class, puzzles and jumpers to concentrate on.

The Cambridgeshire first, Cornrow has to be onside and could be far too well handicapped not to figure at the front end – the price is just about fair and so it’s almost a saver bet though with a search for value elsewhere the priority as always.

Gabrial’s Kaka and Velox are the two I like against the fav and the former seems to have been just coming back to the boil with this trip set to suit ideally, I can’t forget the ease of his earlier season win and the big field will provide some cover for Pat Smullen who has a lovely ride here to continue his great season. Velox is a form chance and did not get things to plan last time out, had been unlucky until Sandown and Cam Hardie will be looking forward to another chance on Cumani’s charge. Possibly less room to progress off the mark than Cornrow of course but worth a dart in a cracking renewal.

Lord Ben Stack and Anthem Alexander are my picks for the two classier affairs with the former hopefully going to prove top class if not today then beyond as a very striking and large juvenile.

At Chester Nakuti would be a selection in the 4.50 but the draw will not help at all so I’ve taken to the jumps for more action in the punting department.

I think Mijhaar should prove too classy under McCoy in the 2.15pm, the market is well awake to the chances but 4s is still fair against a respectable if only moderate field. Hopefully the McCoy drive will be enough to make up his mind as he can be a bit quirky like a lot of similar types in these colours.

I am taking two in the Listed Chase and possibly looking forward to this race the most today. Attaglance is a little gem and has a great chance here to kick off the season early and in winning fashion. Uncomplicated and great to see them out early with a mark that will prove lenient if he does come back to himself, Brian Hughes has the ride and I think he is the one to beat and will be very hard to beat if returning in good nick.

The other is a long time fav of mine with Pantxoa, this track will suit very well and somewhere near the pace with a good round he will go down fighting if he doesn’t have them all at it a good bit from home. Dickie Johnson rides and this is a type that will never hit his ceiling in terms of mark as his jumping can stop him in the tracks when running good races.  A clear round and then he is the one I fear for Attaglance so playing both.

Have a great day and good luck to all!
