Today’s Info 28th November 2014

Good morning

Some racing ahead this weekend and the quality rises from today through to a mega day on Sunday at Fairyhouse.

For today at Newbury the opener may be one for punters to be wary of steaming into the odds on jolly, there are good things being heard about Harry Fry’s charge and Paul Nicholls could also be unleashing a good type so whilst the notebook needs to be on hand I’d steer clear of punting unless Mick Jazz is sent off a point or two bigger…

The next race looks the right spot for Quick Decisson to put what will prove to be a lenient mark as he warms up to the task. He improved for a couple of spins last year and will do so again this term. Potential to be a decent handicapper this year and Micheal Nolan takes off a further few handy pounds. He looks a decent punt on the card at the odds.

Dell’ Arca is also a big price on the card but faces no easy task against some other nice types – the price is tempting for a class act but I’m not sure we saw enough at Cheltenham to wade in but he could win at a price that looks very wrong after the event, another notebook race perhaps.

Pendra probably should have won at the Festival with a bit more luck and returns to the track in what looks a race for the taking under AP McCoy. Whether he is knocking value at slightly bigger than 3s is open to debate but he is good fresh and hopefully they have been aiming to kick off with a bang and take a chance in a few hot races afterwards. I think the weight he gets from the top one and The Paparrazi Kid’s form and mark being open to question too then he merits a small punt.

I want to have a horse on side for the Hennessy too and it’s a rag price for a very good horse in the shape of Houblon Des Obeaux for a lady in great form Venetia Williams. He has to emulate something special to win off top weight but this is condensed enough at the weights and he will relish a proper test, handles softer ground and when some are tired up front if he has jumped well he must be thereabouts. Form at Ascot is superb but also he can win the other way around and is also cracking fresh. At 33/1 and bigger around he is the first dart…

So a couple to back and a small e/w steal which may go well…

Advice –

12.55 – Quick Decisson 0.75pt Win – 4/1 General

2.40 – Pendra 0.75pt Win – 7/2 Lads and Betfred

0.25pt e/w acca – Mick Jazz 12.25 / Quick Decisson 12.55 /  Dell’ Arca 2.05 and Pendra 2.40

Ante Post –

Houblon Des Obeaux 0.75pt e/w – 33/1 General..
