Today’s Info 30th March 2015
Three national hunt meetings today as the Flat takes a break after a busy weekend!
Closest we came yesterday was a big run from Third Dimension placed at the Curragh in the Lincoln, that was a good spin on very testing ground and should be better to come this year based on that spin.
One race of interest at Warwick today for me and it is a decent looking Chase at 3.25pm which cases can be made for many. No Buts is one of those after two runs at Cheltenham which didn’t really see him in his best light, Tom Scudamore is back aboard and he is a classy jumper for the pilot and I think there is a bit of room left for improvement yet. He is well supported already and has solid claims against a favourite who is decent and probably priced about right in Horizontal Speed if not a betting proposition.
The other is Benefit Cut who doesn’t take a lot of racing and has had one spin for a new trainer before today and and that was after a break, I hope there is a return to his best here under Paddy Brennan who knows the charge well and he is certainly over priced off a fair mark if getting the benefit of the change of aids and a spin on the track last month.
Finally it could be worth a small bet on Rhapando who will need to defy the stable poor run to win but is a horse I have a lot of time for and regular readers of the column will know I also like a Webber horse especially over fences but he has had a difficult time of it and hopefully he may get a change of luck here. It’s not a strong race and Rhapando should be good enough especially on his early run in December when winning and a line has to be drawn through the next run. It would be great to see him enjoy this today.
Hopefully we get a bit of luck on a quiet day in terms of opportunity.
Warwick 3.25 – No Buts 0.5pt Win – 9/2 General
Warwick 3.25 – Benefit Cut 0.5pt Win – 20/1 General
Kempton 4.20 – Rhapando 0.5pt Win – 10/3 General
