Today’s Info 3rd October 2015

It’s Arc weekend and did they or didn’t they water is an interesting sub plot. Home advantage for a home team is usually provided by mother nature and we’ll know come post time what assistance or not has been provided by the hose owners at Longchamp!

Saturday first to get out of the way and hopefully find a winner or two along the way before Sunday afternoon.

At Ascot in the opener Zeb Un Nisa goes after a prep run in a bid to secure some black type and has been an unfortunate runner a few times to date but looks to have a good opportunity to grab some on a huge weekend for her owner who runs Golden Horn in Paris. She showed lots of speed last year and I think is best ridden as close to the pace as possible. This race is tough but she might have a little more to offer now and would have got black type with a clearer run in a good York race last May. Liam Keniry takes the ride and she looks overpriced to shape a lot better and go closer than rag odds this afternoon.

Hillstar has the right race and opposition to return to somewhere near his hardy and classy best in the following race and taking on similar types just below the top level might allow him to dominate under Jamie Spencer. There should be enough pace to aim at and Hillstar is tough to beat if so, Romsdal has question marks over best efforts to answer and the remainder headed by Star Storm and a potential bounce back of Queen Of Ice – Hillstar merits support at the odds.

Tanzeel is in danger of getting a cliff tag from me but I do think he is smart and can show up well in the Challenge Cup on the card over 7f later on the card. Was well backed from big prices at Ayr when dropped back in trip but didn’t quite pick up when it mattered and was lost alone for most of the way. Back to 7f again and needs to click in to gear again that saw such an impressive win three starts back.

At Newmarket I expect Integral to take the beating in the Sun Chariot and repeat last years effort under Ryan Moore and in what shapes a two runner race for me I think she will confirm better mile form than her main market rival today. Ryan Moore has some book of rides there today and the roll ups could be interesting if he gets off to a good start in the minefield opener.

May Dullea and Shanahans Turn are most looked forward to at Gowran Park with some decent jumping action there, the former has shown decent handicap form and if going off prominently over the 2m today will be a play there and the latter bidding to extend the De Bromhead hold on the PWC Champion Chase has Sizing Europe’s hooves to fill, hopefully does so.

On Sunday the Arc takes over and we were heartbroken by Treve last year with Flintshire clear of the rest at cracking odds but I struggle to take her on this time. Flintshire is still a player but Found with a better draw would have been my selection, out where she is it will be very tough but at the prices you’d be tempted to go for her to rattle the places. I expect New Bay and Treve to fill the front two spots, this may have come at the end of a hard road for Golden Horn and that price makes little or no appeal this weekend.
