Today’s Info 5th January 2015

Good morning

One race of interest today and Wilde Pastures could be an obvious blot on the card at Musselbrugh in the 2pm event over 2m this afternoon. He has his own running style and is a lovely looking animal in full flow but has never proved as good over hurdles as he has since switching to fences in more recent runs.

He does go back to timber today and looks well in off the top of the weights given the improvement shown but his last two runs leave plenty to answer reverting back and whilst he can win I’d be inclined to take him on at the odds with something with more to come in this sphere.

A couple that fit the bill are Dry Your Eyes and Honourable Gent both of whom merit attention. The former has no weight to carry and is starting to get the hang of things in four starts over hurdles and you can expect a bit more to come. Possibly though that will come over further with more time to settle but back from a mini break that may have been ironed out and he is a player for Donald McCain.

Honourable Gent though has needed time to grow and strengthen but signed off a ready winner at Newcastle over some good yard sticks and there will be lots more to offer this season. First time up is the worry of course but I think he is well handicapped and if ready is the most likely winner under Wilson Renwick.

I think the three will fight this out in the finish and I am going to chance the fitness of Rose Dobbin’s runner at odds of around 5/1

Advice –

Musselburgh 2.00 – Honourable Gent 0.75pt Win – 5/1 General, 11/2 in places
