Today’s Info 6th December 2014

Lots of racing today, hopefully Sandown gets the all clear too under the covers from the freezing temperatures.

The Aintree card then first and the Becher Chase is a cracker. I’m going to fire two darts. Saint Are is a dropper in the ratings for new trainer Tom George but could take to this and they will have eyes on the big one. To get there he has to be winning a few races on route and I like the jockey booking and he ran a hell of a race at Cheltenham which is not his track at all. He looks to be well weighted and an interesting runner here.

The other is Knock A Hand who will find this at about the end of his stamina but is a cracking jumper and gallops away and loves softish ground. I’m hoping he can step up again and light up for the experience under a decent pilot. I thought he was priced about right at 14s or 16s so happy to take him each way at the bigger odds available.

King Of The Wolds is the one for the Sefton, he would have been a touch unlucky not to win last time and this track will not allow him to be too keen and blow his chance. The trip looks perfect and I’m really hoping for a big run from one that has threatened to be very good and he has a lovely weight here and an experienced jockey to do the right things. Prominent ride would be good and jumping will be key, a nice price and a talented horse who can still progress lots.

At Sandown I’m suprised at the price of Balder Succes as I had him a fair bit shorter than 4s around this morning. He is the class act and despite Gods Own being in again, who doesn’t perhaps yet get the credit he deserves this race is very much there for Alan King’s charge to stamp a little authority on. At 5/2 I’d say he would be priced correctly so 4s appeals a lot under the man in form ( forgiving a course error ) Richard Johnson.

Happy to leave it there unless the markets change a fair bit in some other contests.
