Today’s Info 6th May 2015

It’s Chester’s May meeting and plenty to work with over the next few days.

The Cup today is a cracker and Quick Jack fascinating for Tony Martin. Ran well in lots of big races and still has more to come but the price is very skinny for a race where it often doesn’t pan out as hoped but as a likely winner he is close to the top of the list, if not top and the market obviously agrees.

Mubaraza went of favourite last year after a solid summer had past and a decent prep run was under his belt. This time the form of late is less solid but the comeback run showed promise in a race that clearly didn’t suit and he looks one to have on side for another crack at the unique contest with the prices far more generous this time around. Has a lovely mark if returning to top form and that is likely provided the rain fall is only as expected and not earth changing. He has performed on softened ground but I’d like him to get in amongst the front early so delayed waiting tactics are not ideal here. Got the right ride last year and has a similar task today so looks a wager.

The other is Gabrials King who has the Chester go to man Franny Norton on board and has switched from Simcock to Fahey, a route that often brings improvement and he has prepped the most eyecatchingly of the field for this this afternoon. The Ripon run has been well talked about now nut it’s easy to see a bit of improvement is due with luck in running and a solid chance of making the frame too, the prices just about allow for the luck in running needed and this is the second dart.

Blithe Spirit looks the one in the sprint that follows, a ready winner last year at the meeting, a handy pilot booked which helps and the berth is fair enough in 6. Nottingham come back run was excellent and if hitting the front today and the slight ease in the ground a plus he looks priced fairly for a bet at a course he excells at. Luck at the start needed to ensure he is able to mix it at the front end.

Happy to leave it there although looking forward to Silver Wings second race course start in the opner after a taking debut and if you can get with the one layer going 11/4 that looks fair.

Advice –

Chester 3.10 – Mubaraza 0.75pt e/w – 16/1 General, 4 places

Chester 3.10 – Gabrials King 0.75pt e/w  – 9/1 General, 4 places

Chester 3.45 – Blithe Spirit 0.75pt Win – 0.75pt Win
