Today’s Info 8th May 2014

Good morning

It’s another packed day at Chester and with a bit of luck on side yesterday fingers crossed there is more to come.

Shwaiman was a little unlucky in the Cup, although to be wide from that draw was always likely and when he did get into the straight the birds had flown up top. I think he is one for a decent pot as he won’t get hit for that and will only improve for the experience. Lemon’s Gent and Swan Song went about things with little fuss and won well so all bodes well for now.

I can see why the money has started to come as I type this for the Bailey trained and Fallon booking Strictly Silver in the first at Chester. Certainly ran better than it reads on return and is on a good mark. The draw and track are positives so at double figures if you can get on that should work out well.

Another at double figures and with a touch of intrigue about his chances is Makefeh for Luca Cumani. This four year old is talented, perhaps not really a handicapper when it clicks and should continue to improve with only ten starts to date. Interesting first spin lined up here with the trip perhaps as far as he wants but the nature of the track levels that off a touch and he has a solid draw. Really travels well and doesn’t have to be held up as has been the case in the past, a decent break and he has to be one of the more interesting charges. A little bit of rain will not effect him and I think he is worth chancing alongside Fallon’s mount.

I think Muteela, unbeaten in two starts to date, is over priced even at the 5/2 available for the 3.15 on the card. Really liked the last win and expect further improvement which does put her rivals with a good bit to find. The draw will need to be negated early but Hanagan will be pretty aware to everything, it’s only eight rivals and she merits following to overcome that.

Watching the rest of that card but will have an eye on the skies for the afternoon over Wincanton. Allthekingshorses runs in the 7.00 after bumping into one he didn’t see until it was too late last time. It was a real return to form and this trip is a touch shorter so I expect he can actually make really good use of his new found confidence over the jumps and he is a decent performer with the right conditions. The ground will have to be good, lots of rain would really put me off and maybe even make connections think about running him so with that in mind it is probably safe to have the bet. If it does pour I’d certainly have some of the stake back pre or during the race.

Advice –

1.45 – Strictly Silver 0.75pt Win – 9/1 with most firms

1.45 – Makefeh 0.75pt Win – 12/1 with most firms

3.15 – Muteela 1pt Win – 5/2 with most firms

Wincanton 7.00 – Allthekingshorses 1pt Win – 6/1 with most firms
