Test

Today’s Info 9th August 2014

Good morning

It’s what the weather will do to the racing with rain everywhere that makes this afternoons action tough to decipher.

I am going to chance a few but play easy with the stakes unless you know what is in store when getting involved later.

Like it or loath it the Shergar Cup is a bit of fun and if it doesn’t rock your boat then fair enough. I thought Edge of Sanity was a decent bet if the ground rides fine in the 2m contest and that Pricewise might have the Fortune punt about right for the silver saddle malarkey.

Ex Bolger of course and couldn’t have met two better treated beasts last two outings in Ireland. This test will suit well trip wise, improving and provided it doesn’t get extreme conditions wise looks the most solid of the field. A little question over a first start in the UK but cost a few bob to move over, this is a nice pot and I’m not convinced that Hassle has much more to offer so am keen to take it on. Plenty others in the race out of touch or with other doubts too.

At Haydock the 2.20pm looks a good chance for Rye House to get back on track but is already short enough in the market and will probably go off a little tighter given the profile. Queensberry Rules looks overpriced though and the last run at York earmarked a nearing to his best, Crowley has the ride and I have to take a chance at the odds for the Haggas runner with a bigger reputation than has been justified yet. I hope the trip is the key and with a slightly more prominent starting position will make presence felt at nice odds.

Anything like 3/1 for Hillstar looks very much backable in the Rose Of Lancaster. No hot pots here to relegate the consistent beast in to second, in fact the race lacks much opposition. Danadana the closest I could come to taking a chance against and I think they have other later targets in mind. Ryan Moore can make best use of a good horse against disappointing rivals I hope.

Watch the skies and good luck.
