Treve will wait for Vermeille

Interesting news from France yesterday following the return of Treve to home soil after a dissapointing run in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot. We will not see the 2013 Arc heroine on the race track again until September this year, ruling her out of the summer months according to Harry Herbert of Al Shaqab Racing.

The target will be the Vermeille in France before attempting to win the Arc again.

Herbert told the Racing Post that she was a “bit sore in the back” following her second defeat of the season so far. “She will be rested now but I would have every confidence that she can return to full form, her work before hand was at least as good as last year, perhaps even better”

Before her race at Royal Ascot the build up saw her a little agitated, kicking out in the pre parade ring and appearing a little upset according to Herbert.

Time will tell if she is to return in the kind of health and form needed to win an Arc, she has triumphed before and we hope she comes back as good as ever at the end of the Summer.
