The Wow Signal retired to stud
Juvenile Group 1 winner The Wow Signal has been retired to stud confirmed today by Al Shaqab Racing.
The John Quinn trained winner of the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot last season recorded his greatest success in the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville defeating subsequent Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf hero Hootenanny in the process.
Harry Herbert, Racing Advisor to Al Shaqab reported this afternoon. “We are very sad that The Wow Signal has had to be retired. It is always disappointing when a horse like this is prevented from reaching his full potential. His two-year-old form has emerged as some of the best in the world and I have no doubt that he would have gone on to be an exceptional 3-year-old.”
Trainer John Quinn “He is a very tough horse with a great constitution and tremendous acceleration who ran well on all types of ground. He put in an outstanding performance to win the Prix Morny. He is a very special horse and I am sure that he will make a great stallion. We will miss him very much but I look forward to training his offspring in the future.”
Harry Herbert pointed out the career was in the balance when joining us on RacingFM this week – catch the whole interview here.
